They've been investigating for a week and are still doing so. All the work at that machine has been off-loaded to others. It's roped off with a security guard standing watch 24 hours a day. They are taking this with extreme seriousness, which I cannot tell you how much I appreciate. Even though what the man in question was doing was not something I would ever be asked to do (they were changing out a motor), everyone wants to know exactly what happened. The last death that happened 12 years ago resulted in a sea change in how roof repairs were done, because of the nature of that man's death.
I know what you mean about "well, I've done this one thing thing, and then this other guy did that exact same thing and he got hurt." And then I feel really nervous and jumpy for weeks afterward, wondering if I'm doing things right.
