I'd been thinking of writing something like this myself, but only two paragraphs in I knew that you'd written everything I wanted to see and better than I would. This is perfection in the form of wing!fic.

And the books! It always amazes me that people in TV shows or movies never think to check some very obvious sources of info. RTFM, ya know? You might get somewhere, and you don't have to find a WiFi hotspot to do it!

The brown-red wings just seemed to fit, both scientifically (Luke has brown-red hair, thusly he's genetically predisposed to produce that kind of pigment for other hairs and/or feathers), thematically, and aesthetically (girlfriend, your carpet needs to match your drapes!).
