Date: 2010-01-16 12:19 pm (UTC)I agree wholeheartedly about Hiro. Let him kick ass! He can even kick ass and still be funny - one doesn't have to negate the other. I find it hard to know who to root for on this show. So many of the so-called heroes aren't terribly heroic. Hiro seems to be the only one worthy of the name so it annoys me too when he's sidelined as the clown.
As for Lydia the Tattooed Lady - I almost wrote her off on first sight, but she's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I think her description of Sylar's problem could very well apply to the rest of the cast too. It seems like no one on this show can get over themselves long enough to be effective at anything. So many opportunities for awesome development preempted by tacky villainy and emo-palooza (I'm looking at you Sylar and Peter!). They've got such wonderful characters with so much potential singly and together it frustrates me to watch the show go nowhere and do nothing week after week. Thank god for Fanfiction, right?
