Date: 2010-09-12 09:07 pm (UTC)While I've written stories from everything from one-word prompts to detailed outlines, I tend to like my prompts how I prefer someone giving me driving directions: Name me the major roads, give me some visual clues I should be looking for when I'm getting close to the right place, and lemme know that if I go past the yellow house, I've gone too far. The "you've gone too far" direction is extremely useful, because otherwise I can find myself in totally unknown territory for a long time before I realize that I'm lost.
So that's how I tend to think about the sign-ups, and in that context, it's totally fine.
I had so much fun last year that I wanted to spread the joy to the flist. :)
